At DICF, we celebrate our diversity.

Delhi International Christian Fellowship is an inter-denominational church committed to providing a spiritual and relational home for the international English-speaking community in New Delhi, India. With a congregation of people from all over the world, we recognize the diverse needs of our international community, and celebrate the diversity that makes us a fascinating and relationally supportive church family.

The common threads that weave us together are our faith in Jesus Christ, our common English language, and the help we give each other as expatriates here in India.

No matter what your situation in New Delhi, we are here to help you find:

  •   greater peace in the struggles of international living,
  •   closer relationship in the distance from your home countries and families,
  • and a growing relationship with God our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ.

Help is available.  One of our oft repeated phrases is:

”Better friends are found quicker in our international church.”

DICF is an independent Christian community that is not supported by any church, organization, or mission. Our church life and ministries are funded by the gracious voluntary giving of our members, friends, and attenders. We invite you to share the support of this vital ministry to our international parish of New Delhi.

Church leadership

Our pastor is Karl Smith. He is back for a second time as our pastor. He retired with his very ill wife in 2012.  After our last pastor left in April of 2016 because of a visa issue, we have called him back. Karl is in his 10th year in the Indian sub-continent. He has pastored other international churches in Central Africa, and Central America.

Our Church Leadership board is constantly in flux with members coming and going on a regular basis. This past year our board has again reflected our wonderful diversity with members from Australia, Canada, DR Congo, Great Britain, Japan, Netherlands, Nigeria, South Africa and United States

God-centered:  DICF exists for God. In every person and program, God is first, God is experienced, and God is to be pleased.

Bible-based:  DICF lives by the Bible. Bible teaching permeates every program because we want to know and understand God’s Word. The Bible is to be lived out in our lives because we believe the Bible is God’s Word for what we believe and do.

Outreach-oriented:  DICF looks outward to serve the broader expatriate community in order to offer them a place in Christ’s church and show them the love of Jesus Christ. When a choice is made between serving the needs of us inside our church or reaching out to others, we are committed in advance toward ministry to outsiders.

Disciple-making:  Christians are disciple – believers who are learning and changing to be more like Jesus. Disciple-making is happening when DICF live as authentic Christians, especially under stress, and especially in demonstrating Christian love in relationships with others.

Kingdom-building:  The kingdom of Jesus Christ is far greater than any local church or denomination. It includes loyal followers of Jesus all over the world. We are serious about building the Kingdom. We will do what we can within our local context and the restraints of the authorities over us, to help God build His Kingdom worldwide.

Future-looking:  Vision at DICF is in the future tense because we are future-looking. We know that faith really pleases God and faith is always forward. Our faith for the future is generated by trust in Jesus Christ.

We believe that a vision that is God-centered, Bible-based, outreach-oriented, disciple-making, kingdom-building and future-looking will supernaturally produce a healthy growing, faithful church.

Church Strategies

Put God first in everything. We will seek through worship, prayer, teaching, our church community, and concern for others to glorify God in all that we do.

It is our intention to enhance God’s reputation (Help people think of the God of Jesus Christ in better terms) by:

  •   Our personal commitment to Him.
  •   Our love for each other.
  •   Our thoughtfulness and compassion for others.
  •   Excellence in our programs, services, teachings, and publications.
  •   Managing our resources with the highest standards of integrity, transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Reach out by equipping believers to share their faith and provide ministries that bring expatriates to faith in Jesus Christ and help people return to a forgotten or neglected faith.

Help Christians grow and experience spiritual transformation as they learn and apply God’s truth to their lives.

Organize for effectiveness by providing structure, resources, and leadership to encourage high-quality, volunteer-led ministry.

Bless others through sharing God’s goodness to us by, pursuing ministries of compassion and helping others to fully experience God’s grace even if they are not or cannot become part of our church.

Excellence through doing our best with the resources we have. Quality and excellence should permeate everything we do, print, and produce. There are quality publications and programs all around us in our international community. We will draw more people to our church if what we produce is of excellent quality.

Relevant and meaningful in every area of our church and ministry life. It is a sin to bore a person with the Gospel, when God makes it so exciting. We want people to come to our services, programs, and productions and find something of value, even if they know little or nothing about Jesus Christ. We work hard at relevance. We never want anyone to leave this church because we have not touched them in some away.
